“Know all by these presents that I, William Eason Tippins, for and in consideration of the love I have for the cause of Christ, and from an earnest desire to promote his heritage on earth, do give and grant and by these presents convey unto A.D. Eason, W.J. Jordan, L.A.H. Tippins, J.J. Grooms, D.H. Smith, Martin G. Tootle and William Hardin, Trustees of the New Tattnall County Camp-Ground … twenty acres of land to be used for a Camp-Ground to have and to hold free from any claim whatsoever.” So reads the deed by which this land was given to these first trustees on December 5, 1867. The seed sown by these godly men have multiplied and produced year after year rich and abundant harvests for the kingdom of God —- on Earth and in Heaven.
