CAMPGROUND LIST

Oriental Campground

Explore Tours

Whatever your preferred mode of transportation into the wilderness is, be it horseback, motorbike, or your own two legs, Oriental Campground is your gateway. Located near the end of a forest road, you’ll find eight sites in a secluded and beautiful setting. Just three miles away on the same forest road await the trailheads for the North Fork John Day River Trail, Corral Creek Trail and Big Creek Trail. A word of warning though--the forest road is pretty rugged and narrow, so low clearance vehicles and big RVs are not recommended. But for anybody looking to escape the larger, busier campgrounds, look no further than Oriental. Check website for closures. Tip: If you visit during the warmer months, pack a bathing suit and take a dip in the river! Or, you know, just strip down to your skivvies. It’s pretty remote back there
