Fort Pillow State Historic Park

Come to Fort Pillow for the history buffs and stay for the steep bluffs. The fort itself was a strategic Confederate location during the Civil War, but you won’t have to simply imagine soldiers of bygone days walking around with muskets—they’ve got re-enactments for that! Check out the well-preserved breastworks of Fort Pillows or venture inside the reconstructed inner fort. If you’re more about the present than the past, head out on the 5 miles of hiking trails or have a picnic at the pavilion. Family reunion with an antique cannon nearby? Sounds sweet!
