On the shores of secluded Lake Tillery, Carolina Forest is a gated residential community in the Uwharries. Surrounded by the Uwharrie National Forest and directly across the lake from Morrow Mountain State Park, the area is rich in hiking, biking, and riding trails and beautiful, pristine areas. Carolina Forest is conveniently located near world class golf courses, local potteries, the NC Zoo and many other attractions. Established in 1972, Carolina Forest includes 12.6 miles of roads and 1,120 lots nestled between the Uwharrie Mountains and Morrow Mountain State Park. The community has prospered and currently includes nearly 200 homes, with several new ones under construction. Approximately 250 people enjoy living here year round including young couples, families, and retirees.
