Brodie Mountain’s skiing history dates back to at least 1933, when the Mt. Greylock Ski Club reportedly conducted a fall trail work day. The trail was described as being 8 to 14 feet wide, dropping 1,200 vertical feet over the course of 2.25 miles. The club scheduled regular trips to the mountain that winter. Access to the trail during the winter of 1933-34 required permission from landowner Gregory “Mad Russian” Makaroff.
